News of Metal Gear Solid 5 are already rampaging in the net. Kojima says MGS 4 is the end of Solid Snake's story though, so I'm guessing MGS 5 will feature Sunny in a Snake suit and being ten billion times hotter than anything. She'll continue where her "adoptive" parents left off *ehemehemehem* I'm not sure how I'd feel with no manly ass to control, though.

Wimbledon

Been watching tennis a lot with my dad lately. Contrary to popular belief, I've been fascinated with tennis because of my dad's obsession, and not because of uh, Prince of Tennis. Anyway, I love Roger Federer's grin but my heart goes out to the World's number 2, RAFAEL NADAL. ♥ I mean, come on. LOOK AT HIS GLORIOUS ARSE. He keeps on plucking out his shorts from in between his ass, too (Don't believe me? Watch the Nadal vs. Murray match. Count how many times he does it), which is also affectionately called "the backward grab at the seat of his tennis shorts." Uh, or removing a wedgie.

Bit sad that Tanasugarn was defeated by Venus Williams (right after Tanasugarn defeated Jankovic!), because I find her strangely cute. She's definitely not pretty or sexy unlike the others, she's quite short and stumpy, but I don't care! She has great control, too. Williams' has stronger shots, though. And I still admire Williams as well.

I'm going to leave the computer now because everything is sho fuzzy. I might rewatch Vision of Escaflowne until I fall asleep. Whee. BUT WHEN I COME BACK I EXPECT SOMETHING NICE AND SHINY. Please? *3*)/

holiday + no social life = working during the holiday.

Well, not exactly. I didn't go to the office today for work like I used had to do in certain holidays three years ago, but I did spend a couple of hours today doing official work.

I can't help it; I have a much better setup here at home (more computers, more powerful processors, more monitors, internet access, pr0n computer games) and it's just too hard to resist doing all of the stuff I need to do tomorrow. Then I'd just turn over the results and spend the rest of the day sleeping or slacking off.

Spent the day alternating from playing Mass Effect, doing work related stuff, and researching for my "Kurosagi" sideline. Mass Effect's a great game, but after a while the nVidia drivers crap out and you're thrown back to the desktop. I'm pretty sure it's the drivers this time... I mean, I risk bricking my motherboard by flashing its BIOS last weekend and the crashes still occur.

As for work, I did get some progress. Might spend a couple of minutes tomorrow clarifying some stuff but they're finished for the most part. Same goes for Kurosagi.

Today’s review centers on Oniisama E, a classic example of a shoujo manga (a girl’s comic – comics made particularly for girls) featuring shojo-ai (girl to girl romance) content. Girls in Japan find it quite normal, after all, to like a girl before liking boys, and I find that aspect of their culture cute.

For those of you who think that shojo-ai, and its raunchier version yuri, is only for men, here’s a chance for you to see another take on the girl x girl relationship. However, I have to state that Oniisama E has never been equaled in terms of sadism, masochism, and wrongness – for girls. Not even Mars, previously reviewed as a manga full of drama, sadness, and general fuckery, can match Oniisama E. (Of course if you want a full blown S&M thing, that’s a different target market altogether. What I’m saying here is that this stretches the limits of ‘shojo’ in terms of the issues and situations tackled by the characters.)

                I’m warning you right now: the story has hints of sibling love (half-sisters, implied to be one-sided); a main character fits the dominatrix description perfectly; another main character is a depressed, pill-popping bitch, and there is a lot of drama. This is where shojo began, when discovering that ‘oh, he’s my brother!’ still wasn’t an overused cliché in manga. The culture of the story is also something to watch out for: the main character Nanako was called childish for liking Rilke and de Sade (the Marquis de Sade), and a few lines of Verlaine’s poetry is in it. As you can see, this is one fun manga, full of period detail of a time long past.

            Another note: the artwork is very, very old, and may turn off more than a few people. It features very shojo elements, like whirly roses and sparkly eyes. If you’re into fucked-up relationships set in an ambiguous 50’s – 60’s look, read on.

It's the little things that make me happy. They may seem "little", but if you focus more on them instead of dwelling on things that don't deserve your attention then they can mean a lot. Right now I'm really enjoying my acads; they're tiring but my subjects are all very interesting (not to mention that I have crushes on some of my profs). I'm excited about AME and ASTERISK applications, too.

I find that it's easier to NOT be angry at people. Not that I've forgiven them already, but it definitely helps if I don't think about them at all! I want a clean slate, with a little speckles of dirt from the past just as a reminder, but not enough to sully the whole thing.

I hope this optimistic streak of mine continues. Because angst can be quite contagious too, and I don't want to spread the disease. I think the perfect solution is to just keep everything to myself if I feel something particularly angsty. That way, everything goes smoother and outward drama doesn't happen. :P

I'm working on a lesbian-themed oneshot comic entitled "The Martian", which is based on my gay short story also named The Martian. It has a bit of sci-fi, a whole lot of romance, and uh, true-to-life issues. I believe that I've written several gay-themed stories and comics ("I'm in love with a geek boy" comes to mind) but to focus on a lesbian story for once really pumps me up (no pun intended).

Gay and het fandoms are more prominent in the internet than lesbian fandoms--and if there are yuri stuff, they focus on the boobs. Not that it's a bad thing, because breasts can be glorious, but it makes me a little sad. It's great that there are sites like Lililicious that offer really good yuri uploads, but they are unfortunately in low numbers.

I've actually met yaoi fans who are staunch defenders of homosexuality--but of the BOYxBOY kind. People seem to wince or laugh awkwardly when I make lesbian references, whereas gay jokes have become the norm. I have even heard one say that yuri seems so "trivial" in comparison. But that's because they've been exposed to the yuri written by some fantasizing, salivating straight-as-an-arrow man.

I'm certainly not trying to make a ground-breaking lesbian-themed story, god knows there are better writers out there. It's quite simple and short, actually. Also quite risky, because I only know quite a few who would be willing (???) to read it, unless I'm mistaken. I will probably lose readership by more than fifty percent.

But I feel that I have to tell this story. It's been going on in my head, and I want to see it for myself.

First things first, because of this meme, I was able to borrow my brother's 2 megapixel cellphone camera (under the pretense of schoolwork. I mean, who would want to take pictures of your stuff besides Figure Drawing classes ).

So anyway, I was able to take a picture of the tablet Carlo gave me for my birthday.
